Farewell Letter to a beautiful Journey!
- This is my farewell letter to perhaps what I hope to be the letter to my last employer. Have removed some of the confidential data/information that was shared in the original email. However, this letter below would depict my emotions and respect for a place that gave me pride, learning, and the strength to try out to build something of my own.
Starts from here —
As most of you would know, today is my last day at ixigo as I’ve decided to move on & throw myself into the frying pan of the startup world! I’d like to take up this opportunity to express how I feel and wish ixigo team the best of success.
ixigo is not just a workplace, it becomes your family. It’s not a job, it becomes your culture. It’s not just about work, ixigo becomes your lifestyle.
A journey that started some 4 years back when I met Aloke and Rajnish here in the office and we discussed over the possible roadmap for ixigo for the next few years.
and did we achieve something?
YES and we don’t call this achievement, we call it RAMPAGE……SAVAGE — something unbelievable to achieve Humanly. A journey that started from a meta to a marketplace to an OTA and eventually reaching scales to a new height.
A Big thanks to Aloke and Rajnish for not just being inspirational LEADERS but great FRIENDS. Rarely you’ll find a combination and the most desired one — “Intelligence with Emotions”. Be like this always. You are great buddies and true gentlemen. I will miss both of your spark and energy that oozes enthusiasm and firepower in all ixigems day after day, every day.
Few things I wanted to share from my learnings at ixigo and I hope they add value to your work and life goals. Will share it by using some relatable quotes -
“You are Best in what you DO!”
One thing that I’ve religiously followed since I started working and something that has done wonders for me. We’ve got to feel that we are the best at what we are doing and if we can’t do this, nobody can. Not only will this push you to go for that extra mile but you’ll find a solution in most cases. Worked great for me!
“You are one day closer to your death”
I read this at the age of 25 and it gave me goosebumps. It doesn’t matter how many hours you clock in the office. Time is your biggest asset and use it wisely!
Thank you all my dear friends as ixigo. You will always be close to my heart! Take good care of yourself.
